Physical description

A rectangular wooden board with a vertical split through the whole board held together with two horizontal pieces of wood on the back. A rectangular pressed metal plate covers most of the board. The metal has extruded floral designs and printing. Printed in the top section - NORTHERN DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC SPORTS Printed in the middle of the board - JUNIOR CHALLENGE SHIELD PRESENTED BY J. W. PENNINGTON ESQ. M.L.A. There are seven small rectangles with the name of a school and dates on each one, the names are BENDIGO, CASTLEMAINE, ECHUA, KERANG, KYNETON, MARYBOROUGH, ST. ARNAUD, GOLDEN SQUARE
