About

St Francis Church is the oldest Catholic Church in Victoria and the oldest church on its original site in Melbourne. In 1929, St Francis? Church became a eucharistic shrine in the pastoral care of the Blessed Sacrament Congregation of priests and brothers, founded by St Peter Julian Eymard in France in 1856. The Congregation has since expanded to other parts of Australia and also to Asia.
