About

The Box Hill Historical Society collects and maintains a local history archive relevant to the history and development of Box Hill, Box Hill South and North, Mont Albert, Mont Albert North, Bennettswood and parts of Burwood and Surrey Hills.

The Society's Heritage Centre is open to the public for research and information on Tuesdays 11 to 4. We also provide a research service. The Society's catalogue can be accessed via the Whitehorse-Manningham Library web site although not all our Collection has been catalogued.

The Society also collects and communicates the local history of the area through cemetery tours, walks, talks, exhibitions and displays, a bi-monthly newsletter, local history publications and outings with an historical flavour.

The Society provides support to the City of Whitehorse on heritage matters and participates in Whitehorse's annual Heritage Festival.
