The City of Ballarat Libraries consist of libraries at Ballarat, Sebastopol, and Wendouree as well as a mobile Outreach service. The Ballarat Library is currently undergoing redevelopment during 2022 - 2023. A temporary location, Ballarat Library at Town Hall, is located on Sturt Street
Our collection
The Australiana Research Collection
The Australiana Research Collection is an extensive collection of books, public and private records, newspapers, maps, plans, catalogues and indexes, as well as family history and local history collections. The Ballarat Genealogical Society collection is held with with this collection. The AR collection itself is founded on the original Ballarat Public Library (in Barkly St) collection, which included many fine works of Australiana. The ARC is currently held in the Ballarat Research Hub at Eureka (BRAHE) at the Eureka Centre.
