About

The Mallacoota WWII Bunker Museum preserves and shares the military, social and local history of far East Gippsland, with a particular focus on Australia’s World War II coastal defence activities. Housed within a former wartime RAAF operations bunker, the museum features artefacts, photographs, archives and interpretative displays relating to the wartime occupation of Mallacoota, local families, shipping, communication systems and regional heritage. Located 4.5 kilometres from the town centre, the "Bunker"museum is set in an attractive bushland setting.
