At the heart of MESS is our expansive collection of over 1,000 eclectic and historically significant electronic musical instruments – the largest publicly available in the Southern hemisphere. But MESS is so much more than a collection of instruments. We are about connecting people and creativity.
We provide hands on access to this museum grade resource to foster community around the transformative power of music making. Whether you are a seasoned artist or a curious beginner we offer inspirational and artist-led support.
Our collection
The MESS collection consists largely of electronic musical instruments, sound generators and sound modifiers. We also collect relevant documentation (Manuals, service documentation), parts and accessories, and historically significant ephemera.
