About

The Metropolitan Golf Club is a private golf club located on the renowned 'sandbelt' area of Melbourne's south eastern suburbs. The Club hosted the World Cup in 2018 and the course is widely recognised as one of the finest championship courses in Australia. It's history dates back to the Caulfield Golf Club in the early 1900s prior to moving to the current site in 1908.

The collection covers the history of the Club including Minutes and Annual reports from inception, photographs, course plans, a series of press clipping from 1908-1939, records of major events held and various other papers and memorabilia.

The 13 m long display cabinet featuring a 'Metropolitan Panorama', with descriptive notes by Prof Weston Bate, is a feature in the recently completed Golf Services Wing.
