The Faculty of Science is one of the original Monash faculties, and includes schools of physical, biological and earth sciences and maths.
Our collection
The collection was begun in the late 1970s when glassware and instruments were being discarded. Items were also collected or given by other faculties.
The collection contains nearly 200 items. It includes items made in our early workshops and special items bought for teaching or research in the first 20 years. There is also a valuable collection of balances, scales and weights.
The glassware, instruments and other items are displayed around the Science Faculty and in the Hargrave Library foyer.
