About

Portland Arts Centre is a multi-purpose venue owned and managed by Glenelg Shire Council, and utilised by community organisations and hirers for meetings, workshops, rehearsals, performances and exhibitions.

Our collection

The venue also houses most of the art works that form part of Council?s Cultural Collection.

These works include a selection of prints, drawings, watercolours and oils. Most of these were collected during the 1960s, 70s and 80s, but the collection also contains some older art works of historical significance.

Highlights are a selection of botanical drawings by the late Collin Woolcock, commissioned works in cooper by the late Ronald Skate, and a work titled ?Cherry? by the late Agnes Goodsir.
