The Genealogical Society of Victoria Inc (GSV) is a not-for-profit organisation formed in 1941 to encourage and assist people with their family history. This mission continues today with members from throughout Australia and overseas.

The GSV holds over 200,000 titles, including books, microforms, CDs and computer databases, pamphlets, maps and periodicals. Our unique collection includes indexes and images of births, deaths and marriages, passenger lists, census, cemetery, probate, occupations, convicts, family histories, local histories, directories and much more. The collection covers all states of Australia, New Zealand, British Isles, Europe, North America and the rest of the world.
