The historical society holds a collection of photographs, local histories, family histories, periodicals, maps and other documents relating to Traralgon and its surrounding districts.
Our collection
PHOTOGRAPHS: A collection of over 3000 photographs of Traralgon and its surrounding districts - including Glengarry, Gormandale, Toongabbie, Tyers, Willung and other smaller places. These are on a searchable database.
BOOKS: Local histories, family histories, scrapbooks, diaries and general historical subjects about this area of Gippsland.
COLLECTIONS: Manuscripts, letters, minute books, account books, photo albums, ephemera, etc. pertaining to families, district organisations, clubs and societies.
PERIODICALS: Mainly Historical Society newsletters and bulletins.
MAPS: A large collection, not all catalogued yet, of Parish plans, Subdivision plans, Shire maps, early pastoral settlement maps, Town plans, early tracks.
VERTICAL FILE: An extensive collection of documents, newspaper cuttings, booklets, ephemera, etc., indexed by family names, districts, property names and subject.
