About

U3A Nunawading’s Vision is “Living, Learning and Enjoying Retirement” and our Mission is “to support positive ageing by providing learning opportunities and social interaction for retired and semi-retired members of the community.” A not-for-profit organisation, U3A Nunawading Inc. is run solely by volunteers who provide low-cost learning opportunities to older people to encourage them to stay active and engaged.

We have over two thousand members and conduct approximately 250 widely diverse classes each week.

Our major purposes are:

- Promote the physical, mental and emotional benefits and enjoyment of lifelong learning and social connectedness;

- Provide opportunities and activities for retired and semi-retired men and women to share their knowledge, skills, interests and experience with each other within an environment of mutual co-operation and social equality; and

- Participate in local community programs, advocating for, and celebrating, the capabilities and potential of mature-aged people and their value to society.
