Zilles Printers was begun by Lewis Zilles in the early 1930s. It was in McKenzie Street Ballarat. His son Jeffrey also became a printer - letterpress, offset and screen printer. The business became Zilles Printers/Graphics and was in Armstrong Street and later Bell Street Ballarat. Ballarat College of Advanced Education Student Union produced a newspaper, Eureka. This was paid for from Student Union Funds. For it to succeed they depended on contributions from students. The paste up for the front page and letters received are shown.Large sheets - front page and letters page. The newsletter from August 1955. It featured a portrait of Queen Elizabeth painted by William Dargie on the cover. The president's introduction talked about the Commonwealth of Nations. There was an article about the Anzac Eve ceremony for students. Also holidays essays and photos from holiday camps at Ararat. A newsletter published by Legacy in this format for many years from 1942. It mentions "Issued from time to time for Private Circulation among the Sons and Daughters of Deceased Service men and Merchant Seamen who served their Country during the War of 1914-18, or the present War". Many articles on the work of Legacy, including features on boys classes, girls classes, camps, the residences and where their past residents ended up. Newspaper clipping from The Courier, Ballarat, Saturday 18/9/1971 about the details of the last trams to run in Ballarat, and that only tramway employees will be allowed to ride back to the depot from Sturt St. Notes that the Mayors of Ballarat and Sebastopol will drive the trams for part of their runs in the municipalities. Quotes tramway superintendent Mr. L. J. Denmead. Gives times the last trams were time to leave the Lydiard St North terminals, that 40 is to be the last tram, that it was to be driven by Mr. L. Walker with Mr. H. Knight as conductor. Ballarat Mayor, Cr. Chisholm was to receive the last tram at the depot.
