The building was destroyed in the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires. The building was subsequently rebuilt albeit as a smaller building and was known as Wombat Cottage. "A number of specific items, which have been useful in the day to day operations of the Chalet, remain in the building with each complementing the other to provide context, meaning and character to their setting. Lou's Cafe c. 1987. In the 1930s and early 40's it was Riches Cafe and Billiards Saloon. Sold to Halligan's, Duggans, Jerry Cowell until 1951 when Luths took over the building as a Car and Tractor agency. Next door was Bennett's Shoe Repair Shop which was later a Stock & Station Agency. Invitation in the form of a typed letter from the General Secretary of the Melbourne Swimming Club,, L M (Les) Phillips to attend a picture night at Leonards Cafe Baths on Monday 29 August.
