Feeding bottles of this shape were on sale from 1900 for about 40 years. The Allenbury feeder devised by Allen & Hanburys, U.K. was the first of this type. Hat was part of the uniform of Gellibrand Girls High School, which merged with Williamstown High School in 2000.Straw hat with brim and 5 cm woven blue band with red, yellow and black stripes and elastic chin strip.Written in black felt pen on the inner hat band - Pam Beckman. Headwear - Hat - School, 1965
Hat belonged to Julie Jones née Foley, now Heritage Programs Officer, City of Whitehorse. Worn for Grade 2 (1960) and Grade 3 (1965). Julie started school at Blackburn State School for Prep and Grade 1 and was on the waiting list for St Thomas The Apostle's in Blackburn. A vacancy came up for Julie to start in Grade 2 (1964). The teacher was Ms Goody and the building was 'an outdoor building separate from the main building'. Her sister Christine was in Grade 6, and she wore the hat first. St Thomas' was co-ed for primary level (Prep- 6) and girls for form 1 - Form 4 (highest level). The hat was hand me down from Christine. Note: Blazer and tunic are in our collection (NA4565.1-2).Caramel coloured straw hat for St Thomas The Apostle's Blackburn. Edge bound in the same colour on turn up brim. The ribbon (grosgrain) around the crown is in the matching colour and has a flattened bow at the back. At the centre front of ribbon is an enamelled badge in blue, red and caramel colour with 'St Thomas The Apostle's Blackburn. Dominus neus et deus Meus'|In the centre of the badge is a pair of hands with one finger pointing to a hole in the other hand. Book cover has title "Electric Tramways of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria Amendment to By-Law January 1962". Pages are numbered pages 1 to 9 amending the 9/3/1937 By-Laws. Used to revise fares, parcel and luggage and charter rates in for Bendigo and Ballarat from 1/3/1963. Page 1 gives a list of amendments by date to the original by-law of 9/3/1937. Defines Pensioners and Child fares. Booklet dated January 1962, SEC Sealed the document 18/1/1962, Governor-In-Council approval granted 15/1/1963 and came into force 1/3/1963. Six copies held.
