Set of six documents associated with a Wattle Park band recital by the AIF Legion of Anzacs band on Sunday 17 October 1943 in support of the 4th Liberty Loan. .1 - printed poster advertising the afternoon and travel by tram from Princes Bridge. .2 - duplicated notice from the Assistant Manager to Depots dated 13/10/1943 about the bus to be used to transport band members from Elizabeth St to Wattle Park - Central Bus Depot - notes the bus had been specially prepared for the event. .3 - typed notice from the District Traffic Superintendent to Hawthorn and Camberwell depots about special trams for the event and arrangements for conductors. Signed by J. M. Tramway Inspectors table holder - two sheets of Perspex with a ruled card between them held with an elastic or rubber band. Use by Inspectors to hold headway cards which they hand wrote out to suit themselves and their method of monitoring services. Inspector's would use a soft pencil on the Perspex sheet to mark off the services as they past their monitoring point. Normally the card would be used to note the suburban terminus departure time, city arrival time, their monitoring point, eg a junction, and other major points. They could also record crew change overs for meals and with other trams on them and what runs their next did. Newspaper Clipping - set of three clippings adhered to both sides of a sheet of ruled quarto paper with punched holes on the left hand side - various newspapers. .1 - "Tram Lines" - full page - from Melbourne University newspaper - Farrago - Friday April 11 -1969 - Titled "Tram Lines" with a photograph and story of MMTB Driver Cyril Tucker, Kew Depot, written by John Steed. Cyril joined the MMTB in 1922. Gives Cyril's thoughts on being a Trammie, notes the issue of the "scabs" - Tom Pesteranovich and Brooker (see Reg Item 2561). Has two photos and a cartoon sketch of the front of a tram. .2 - "Let's get rid of trams" - Letter to the Herald 11/4/1969 - written by David Crowther - Beaumaris - about trams cluttering the streets - got rid of even in Brisbane. Held 26/10/1921, with Mr Dix, Chief Manager in the chair. Parties involved were: Mr. Barnes (MMTB), Mr Abfalter (Union), Mr Hilton (witness), Mr Banks (witness), Miss Relph. The enquiry was into Conductor Bennett in relation to handling lost property - a purse lost by Miss Relph.
