Terry Chumbley raised the issue of contamination of the Bayside site. His actions, particularly the correspondence included here, led to the EPA imposing a clean up notice on the site. The de-contamination work took several years and was reported to have cost $43 million. This book was compiled by Kate SHAW of St Kilda, one who had battled against the SCDC 'Bayside' development and the demolition of the Missions to Seamen building, by asking a number of academics and community members to write essays on various aspects of the development.
