In 1990 City Librarian Wendy MORRIS commissioned Pat GRAINGER to co-ordinate a State and Council funded oral history project, the final product of which was a book printed in time for the 1992 Port Melbourne Festival. Presented to Ballarat College by descendants of J Jackson. College had three J Jackson's attending in the late 1800's - John G Jackson (1888py), James L Jackson (1890py), John Jackson (1894py). The College Cup was awarded to the competitor who won all three 120, 250 and 440 yard races.
