Cutting from 'Whitehorse Gazette, 10/9/97 re launch of the new booklet 'Chaos', the Community Houses Association of the Outer Eastern Suburbs. The 31 Community and Neighbourhood Houses in the Outer East have joined forces to put together a network booklet detailing the activities of each house. This Box Hill Town Hall was officially opened in April 1935 by the then governor of Victoria, Lord Huntingfield. An administrative wing was added in 1982. Following the proclamation of the City of Whitehorse in 1994, the administrative functions were transferred to the Civic Centre in Nunawading. 1888 First Wesleyan church erected on the East corner of Richards St and Whitehorse Rd. 1021 Church was transferred and enlarged on Mitcham Rd. site. 1932 Church was extended Westward. Kindergarten room was extended east to form Wesley Hall. 1953 Church connected to Wesley Hall. 1957 house next to Church purchased. 1958 Community Hall opened. Presbyterian site used by both denominations. 1967 old Methodist site closes, Church building and Wesley hall transferred to Doncaster East and these photos show the Church being moved.Church being moved to Doncaster East.
