Historical information

This Box Hill Town Hall was officially opened in April 1935 by the then governor of Victoria, Lord Huntingfield. An administrative wing was added in 1982. Following the proclamation of the City of Whitehorse in 1994, the administrative functions were transferred to the Civic Centre in Nunawading. The Box Hill Town Hall, which is a National Trust building now houses the Art Centre and community rooms for use by historical societies and volunteer groups.
