Cleckheaton, Yorkshire, set up a spinning mill in Tatura in 1958 (Shepparton 1949) for approx. 30 years. When closing down some items were given away. These were given to Mr and Mrs A. Knee. Copy of photograph of Royal visit to Tatura, 5 March 1954. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were greeted on totally renovated station. decorated with masses of flowers and shrubs. The visit to Tatura of Queen Elizabeth 2 was first by a reigning monarch and no other visit has caused such excitement. The Station was highly decorated and the Royal Cypher in golden flowers mounted on scarlet velvet made a perfect background for the artistic scheme.
