This drum comes from the group which is now called " Warrnambool & District Pipes & Drums". As the Warrnambool Pipe Band it was formed in 1906 and today its aim is to foster a taste for bagpipe music. A separate Ladies' Band was set up in 1950 and combined with the Mens' Band in 1974. The Warrnambool & District Pipes & Drums is held in high regard nationally.This drum is a memento of an important musical group in WarrnamboolThis is a large, circular drum for a pipe band. The outside centre is skin surrounded by wooden rings, one of which is painted black. Between the rings is a cream and black mottled pattern on a curved piece made of composite material. There are eight silver tuning rods equally spaced along the side. One of these has two pieces of red tape attached. The combined Pipes and Drums of the 5/6th Battalion, the Royal Victoria Regiment and the Lornes Scots (Peek, Dufferin and Halton Regiment). Both units were invited to assist their allied regiment, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, to exercise its Freedom of the City of London with a street march from HM Tower of London to Guildhall to commemorate the regiment's 50th anniversary.

A programme for the 57th Christmas Concert held for Legacy widows at the Melbourne Town Hall on 5 December 2022. Performers included The Australian Children's Choir, Scotch College Pipes and Drum Band and a jazz duo. These photographs and a cloth sample of the Anderson tartan were produced when orders were being sent to obtain a new uniform and accessories for the Warrnambool and District Pipe Band. This band was formed in 1906 to popularise Scottish music, especially bagpipe playing, with Simon Fraser as the first Pipe Major. It was in recess for some years (approx. 1916-1937) and the band is today known as Warrnambool and District Pipes and Drums Inc. These sheets of paper are of some historical interest as they record the time when a new uniform and accessories were acquired by the Warrnambool and District Pipe Band (today known as the Warrnambool and District Pipes and Drums Inc.). These are two sheets of paper showing hand printing, photographs and a cloth sample of the uniform and accessories of the Warrnambool and District Pipe Band. The 8/13 Victorian Mounted Rifles Museum at Buna Barracks Albury was officially opened by Colonel G F Howard, Director of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps, on 1 May 1988. The opening followed at Birthday Parade. There were many different musical bands in existence throughout the 20th century in Warrnambool, from Warrnambool City Band to Pipes and Drums as well as trumpet, mouth organ, and military bands. They officiated at many social events and parades and celebrations which were held at the time. The Camperdown Chronicle lists the Dennis King Banjo and Mandolin band as performing at such events around the 1950’s. Survey Corps Flags of this type were produced mid to late 1970's and distributed to all Survey Corps Units. This flag was issued to the Army Survey Regiment, Bendigo and flew during daylight hours on the Unit flag pole at Fortuna Villa for many years. The flag was ceremonially marched out of the gate on the day that the Army Survey Regiment was disbanded in 1996. Colonel G K Howard, Director of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps was the Reviewing Officer. The Pipes and Drums of the 5th/6th Battalion Royal Victorian Regiment provided the music for the occasion.
