This collection of 48 portrait photos details all Past Chairmen of the Legacy Cordinating Councils from 1937 to 2015. The majority of these Legatees were from Melbourne Legacy ranks. The Office was located within the premises of Melbourne Legacy for a peppercorn rent and moved to Sydney during 2015.A record of the past Chairmen of Legacy Co-ordinating Council.Portrait photos of 48 Legatees detailing their names and years of service as Chairman, Legacy Coordinating Councils. For two Past Chairmen portrait photos were unavailable. In a black frame with clear glass. Names and years of service for the 48 Legatees that served as Chairman are detailed under photos of each. Plaque at the bottom centre of the Framed piece reads - "Presented by the Chairman Legacy Australia Inc. to the Melbourne Legacy Club. Lauriston Girls’ School (incorporating Lauriston Museum and Gallery)

This photograph was donated by Mrs Howard whose aunt, Dorothy Christian, attended Lauriston from 1904 to 1908. Lauriston’s very first sports photograph is in 1905, of our students standing with their hockey sticks to mark their participation in the Girls’ Schools’ Hockey Association. Hockey was without doubt the “Queen of Games” at Lauriston during the school’s early decades. The school’s founders Miss Margaret and Miss Lilian Irving were firm believers in the character-building nature of team sports and were instrumental in establishing hockey as a competitive sport for girls in Melbourne. Lauriston’s founders Lilian Irving one of the two sisters who founded Lauriston, saw hockey played in England and brought the game back to Melbourne. Lilian arranged for the first girls inter-school hockey match, between Lauriston and Ruyton in 1903. Her sister Margaret subsequently joined with Mary Morris of Melbourne Girls’ Grammar to establish the Girls’ Schools’ Hockey Association in 1905. The Association organised regular competitions between schools. Hockey dominated Lauriston’s sporting life until well into the 1950s, with regular class, house, inter-school, and staff-student matches. Yields information about the views of various letter writers, Bendigo union views, Geelong, public meetings, finances and protest action.Foolscap sheet of plain paper, with rounded corners, with 4 newspaper cuttings, concerning the mooted closure of the Ballarat Tram system 10 Feb to 13 Feb 1962. All from The Courier, unless noted otherwise. 1 - "Bus v Tram" - 10-2-1962 - letter - from M Stewart of Sydney, say that the move to buses as in Sydney should not be allowed to happen. 2 - "Tram Facts" - 13-2-62 - letter - about the need for a private operator to run at a profit, higher fares - a public authority would maintain concession fares. 3 - "On the Lines" - 13-2-62 - letter - supporting the trammies. 4 - "Bendigo Meeting Moves to Retain Trams" - 12-3-62 - reporting on a meeting of 11-2-62- in Bendigo, well attended. Town Hall, Melbourne. 26th March, 1924. Title printed in dark blue with fancy gold border. Above the titled is a blue, white red and yellow emblem, divided into four, with five white stars between. In the top left is three lions, top right is the Southern Cross, below it is a rearing lion and the bottom left is a harp. Above the emblem is a symbol. Book was used as a record of who bought tokens for the truckwash and how much they paid. Later the money was paid to the Council.
