Bridge over the Plenty River at Briar Hill before widening and alterations. The Plenty River at Briar Hill represented the boundary between the Shire of Eltham and the Shire of Diamond Valley. The bridge was known as the Carter Street Bridge as prior to 1969 Para Road, Briar Hill became Carter Street, Greensborough across the river. Normal WW2 and Korian War period, normal for this period and contains the bottles of sterilization tabletsThe Diggers Water Bottle had to be completly emptied then refilled with the water available, then the tablets added according to the instructions inside the lid. This enabled the Digger to drink his water in the surity that he would not pick up a problem from contaminated water that may have been his only liquid available. These tablets have been produced by science to keep the diggers in top fighting condition. Not rare but everybody both male and female (Nurses etc.) would be issued with this tin of tablets.7 by 3.5 by 2.5 mm tin. A Lady Skippers Event was introduced in the year 2004, the first such event for over forty years. Following the donation of a trophy along with prizes from Swarovski Jewellers for Line Honours Winner and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters in the combined Y.V Performance Handicap Divisions, presented annually by the Goldsmith family in memory of Jennifer Goldsmith. The event became known as the Jennifer F. Goldsmith Perpetual and is open to any yacht on the RMYS Register. It was first contested on Sunday 17th February 2005, when won by Helen Crossley skippering Mystique II and who retained it the following year. The Perpetual Trophy to be engraved with the Y. V. Performance Handicap winner’s name and presented at the RMYS Presentation Night.
