The Lake Bolac Music Club was begun in 1950. The first meeting was held on 12/10/1950, 30 members being present. Office Bearers were Henry Clarke (Pres.), Mrs R Critten (Sec.), Mrs L Hucker (Treas.), Committee: Mr G Rance, Mrs L Wills, Mrs Leitman, Mr J Moreton, Mr AE McIntyre (Auditor). The 21st birthday of the club was celebrated with a performance of "My Fair Lady" on 1st & 2nd Oct., 1971. Slovenian Club Melbourne held an AGM every year of its existence since the establishment. The past Committee was dissolved and a new Committee was elected with the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Between the 1920’s and 1950’s the YWCA, Blue Triangle and local committee of representatives organised an Inter House Athletics Day for Girls in Geelong and Melbourne. Local Geelong business, such as the surrounding woollen mills, business firms and church clubs would form teams of seven women to compete in a variety of sports such as bowls, basketball, hockey, cricket and soccer. David Adam, pictured on the right with his wife, Judy, joined the International House Council in 1966, served on the Executive and Finance Committee in the 1970s, and became Chair of the Council from 1979 to 1986. Judy Adam served on the Ladies' Auxiliary throughout the period. Peter Bobeff, on the left of the image, was the resident law tutor at International House from 1965 to 1967, departing upon his marriage. He returned to serve on the Executive and Finance Committee in the 1970s and 1980s, and became Chair of the Council from 2001 to 2008. Various commemorative, valedictory, benefactor, and staff-student dinners were held at International House throughout the year, allowing for mixing of students, tutors, and Council members.david adam, peter bobeff
