The Portland Stevedoring Company took over from the "Pier Spring Trust" in 1923. Members of the new company were: W.S. Williamson, Solicitor; Capt. D.W. Hislop, Harbour Master, C.V. Parkinson, Borthwicks Manager. The Portland Stevedoring Company serviced about 3 vessels, and was then taken over by the Victorian Stevedoring Company. They were responsible for servicing vessels. STA 1 Victorian Railways Corporal Trolley Trailer Gauge 2 foot six inch (762mm) Built in 1958 It was originally known as ST 1 and used by the “Schools Section” during the restoration of the Puffing Billy Railway, between 1958 and 1962, for transporting materials to the work site. VX 27898 Corporal Thomas John Morris Thomas (Tom Thomas) donated several items to Cranbourne RSL. He served in the Australian Corp Signals in WWII both in Australia and overseas. He was born at Womerah on 9/11/1906 and died at Koo Wee Rup 16/06/1984.
