Significance is reduced by the quality of the photocopy but gives the source details.Series of three photocopies of a photographs and article that appeared in The Courier, Ballarat newspaper of 17/4/1954 when tram No. 37 collided with a wool truck at corner of Drummond Sth and South Streets the previous day. Yields information about the delivery run of tram 18 to Borough of Sebastopol and how it was delivered using a tractor.Newspaper Clipping from the Courier, Friday 1/10/1971, titled "No. 18 Reaches End of the Line", about the delivery of tram No. 18 to the Borough of Sebastopol, Victory Park the previous day. Features a photo of No. 18 being towed along the Albert St. track by a tractor and the hand over from the SEC to the Borough at the resting place of the tram. Features Cr. N. F. Donald and Mr. I. F. Pellas at the handover. Notes the significance of the tram to the Borough - decorated for the Borough's centenary in 1965. Yields information about the last day of the Ballarat Tram Depot operations with the payout and the closure of the gate.Newspaper Clipping from the Courier, Saturday 9 Oct 1971 - titled "End of an Era", of the last day of the tramway depot in Wendouree Parade. Photo features Stan Lakey, foreman at the tramways depot for 23 years, closing the gate at the tramway depot. The men (workers) had been paid off the previous day by Mr. W. Trusler, supervisor. Has 8 other workers in the photo. Appears that the men are holding their payslips or other documents. Document - Instruction, Electric Supply Co. of Vic (ESCo), "Notes for Motormen re New Weekly Tickets.", Feb. 1927
Four page foolscap stencil duplicated instruction sheet titled "Notes for Motormen re New Weekly Tickets.", pinned in the top left hand corner. Details the new style of ESCo weekly tickets to be used in Ballarat from Monday 7/2/1927, where two types of tickets were used - Morning and Evening Tickets and Lunch Hour Tickets. Gives instructions on their use, advantages, colours, fraud protection, schedule of timing when tickets issued against the various run numbers on page 3. Page four, titled "Instructions for Conductors re New Weekly Return Tickets and Weekly Tickets" gives instructions re the issuing of 4d return tickets, a new 3d return ticket and how the colours varied with each day. Notes when the tickets will be collected by the clerk for runs 13 and 14. See Reg. Ephemera - Ticket/s, Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society (BTPS), Book of 10 All Day Tickets - BTPS, 1975
Book of 10 All Day Tickets, numbered A000001 to A000010 printed for the Ballarat Tourist Tramway, contained within an off white front heavy paper (front cover) and off white card back cover sheet, with a two staples on the left hand side. Each ticket is from a light yellow card stock, printed with green ink showing the month of issue on the sides and date of issue (1 to 31) on the top or bottom. Each ticket is numbered and has a perforated left edge to enable it to be torn from the book. Ticket punched by the conductor to shown the month and date of issue. On all tickets, just to the under the staple is a vertical heavy green band. Used from late 1975 until March 1986. Item collected for archives on at time of issue. Collected for Archives 30/6/2004. Has a strong association with the day of the official opening of the Ballarat Tourist Tramway in 1975 and with Graeme Breydon.Yellow index board - printed as an "All Day Ticket" for the "Ballarat Tourist Tramway" - issued by the BTPS with space for the date to be written in and signature of the conductor who issued the ticket. Produced at the start of operations for the BTPS Dec. 1974 or Jan. 1975. Used until 31/10/1975 when next series of all day tickets introduced. Ticket used by Graeme Breydon, issued by A. Cook on 1/2/1975, the official day of opening of the Ballarat Tourist Tramway by the BTPS. Hand numbered "9" in the right hand edge.
