Cutting from the "For the Record" section of The Courier, Ballarat's weekend magazine of Saturday August 12, 1995 about the location of Ballarat's first set of traffic lights. Were at the corners Mair St. with the intersection of Doveton, Armstrong and Lydiard Streets. The latter had trams at the time. They became operational about May 1970. Generally understood not installed at other streets at the times because of the complexity of the tramway system and its impending closure. Demonstrates the Museums phasing out of tickets priced for the actual fare and conversion to a universal ticket that does not have to be changed for a fare increase. Block of 100 tickets - green ink on off white paper, denomination 1/- (1 shilling), headed Ballarat Vintage Tramway. On rear in green ink are details of the Ballarat Tramway Museum, slogan and web address. Has strong association with the event of laying the track across Wendouree Parade during Nov. 1975, an essential task to enable the re-opening of the tramway by the BTPS.Bromide of a black and white photograph of rails being laid to cross Wendouree Parade to access the new BTPS depot access track. Demonstrates the Museums phasing out of tickets priced for the actual fare and conversion to a universal ticket that does not have to be changed for a fare increase. Block of 100 tickets - blue ink on off white paper, denomination 6d (6 or six pence), headed Ballarat Vintage Tramway. On rear in blue ink are details of the Ballarat Tramway Museum, slogan postal and web address.
