The perspective is taken from the ocean looking down across the Port and into the town of Portland. Within the foreground is the ocean beyond the Main Breakwater, the Main Breakwater and the Port. Within the Port nine large ships are docked and another is being brought into the Port by two tugboats. The background features a distant view of the town of Portland and the landscape beyond the township. He married Penuel Hossack and had a family of James, Flora, Penuel and Alex.This item is an example of the book-keeping used by an Orbost business in the early 20th century.
