Edward John Price was a son of early settler Edward Joseph Price. Edward Joseph was the first settler in the Village Settlement when he took out Lot 1, Section 1. He built a small home of slabs and brought his family up in 1896. From the outset the Price family ran a store from their home.This picture, taken 1914, shows Edward John Price on his pony delivering papers from his parent's newsagency that was opposite 'Mountjoy' guesthouse on Ridge Road. He was taking them to Lily Badenhop's post office in Blythe's Road. A programme for a Legacy Demonstration at the Melbourne Town Hall on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th October 1969. Throughout the year Melbourne Legacy provided classes for Junior Legatees such as dancing, gymnastics and eurythmics, the Demonstration was an annual event to showcase their skills. Melbourne Legacy conducted Annual Demonstrations / Parades from 1928 through to the 1980's, usually held at Melbourne Town Hall or Olympic Pool Stadium. Wimba station opened with the line in March 1902 as an unnamed stopping place, and a water tank for locomotive requirements was placed on the side of a hill about 100 metres south of the station. Locos bound for Beech Forest stopped at the passenger shelter at the station, uncoupled, and moved forward to the water tank. Goods were loaded and unloaded during this pause. Originally the J A & A Templeton Funeral Parlour workshop, it was built in 1930 and was situated by his house in Traralgon.A small timber shop, rectangular in shape with a gabled corrugated iron roof. It has a verandah running along the front of the building, and there is a large billboard on the roof. Running Creek had a cricket team in 1913-14.The donor Genieve was the granddaughter of Ella Sullivan. Ella was one of 5 daughters of Denis and Margaret (nee Tolmie) Sullivan who lived at Tawonga (Coral Bank). 'Sullivan's Lane'. Ella married John (Jack) Fahey and they lived for some time at Fahey's Lane, Running Creek. J. Fahey is listed as Captain in the photo. The child's name is not known but it is possible it's Jack's son by the sitting position.Sepia coloured large photo of 13 Cricketers and 2 men, one at each end.
