Mr CLyde would use this booklet to record the details of the wool bales which he sold through Goldsbrough Mort. The first yellow sheet in the booklet indicates that it was filled out in 1947.Faded red/orange paper booklet with three metal staples on left side spine. Top of front cover has an image of a rams head above decorative text reading -Goldsbrough, / Mort / & Company Limited-. Address and services provided are also listed on font cover. Back cover shows an image of a warehouse and gives addresses of warehouse storage locations. Inside front and back covers have instructions and tips on using the booklet. There are several yellow pages upon which can be recorded the wool bale details, transferred between pages with missing carbon paper. From January 1959 and until 1982, “Cosmopolitan Motion Pictures”, owned by Mr Peter Yannoudes (Παναγιώτης Γιαννούδης) and Mr Stathis Raftopoulos (Στάθης Ραφτόπουλος) travelled around Australia to entertain the Greek, Turkish, Indian and Yugoslav speaking population of Australia and provide a significant cinema culture. They travelled as far as Perth in WA, Adelaide in SA, Tasmania, Darwin in Nt, Canberra in ACT and Sydney and NSW. However they found themselves also in places like Berri and Renmark in NSW, where concentrations of migrants lived and thrived during the period. Initially they were travelling by train, carrying all their equipment by hand and placing them in boxes and suitcases. However after 1962 when they acquired their first automobile, travelling became less of a burden, nevertheless cumbersome and laborious. They carried with them initially two portable projectors (second one as a backup) and at times travelled with a third in order to ensure that technology will not be letting them down at the time of film projection. At times the films were projected onto a white sheet of cloth because there was no proper screen to project it on at the venue they were using. A time clock, sometimes known as a clock card machine, punch clock, or time recorder, is a device that recorded the time an employee entered and left the factory. In mechanical time clocks, this was accomplished by inserting a heavy paper card, called a time card, into a slot on the time clock. When the time card hit a contact at the rear of the slot, the machine would print day and time information (a timestamp) on the card. One or more time cards could serve as a time sheet or provide the data to fill one. Information from donor: "The orange booklet was printed mid-to-late 1930’s or early 40’s by my father Curtis Drenen, and written by my grandfather Thomas Drenen. The original publication would have been handset by Thomas’s employees as he had a keen interest in the mines financially. This booklet has been set and cast in hot metal on a linotype machine my father purchased after taking over the Rutherglen “Sun” and passing of Thomas in July 1932. This booklet was one of half a dozen I put together when I found some flat sheets of 8 page sections stored away in a cupboard. I folded, collated the sections, stapled and trimmed these Sheets during my time at the “Sun” from 1951 to1969. Where the rest are I have no idea. I wrote the final paragraph on Page 44 from a copy provided be my mother." Thomas Drenen was Proprietor and Editor of The Rutherglen "Sun," from 1886 to 1932. Sr, Nan Deakin is a Nurse Educator with RDNS and is giving a lecture about District Nursing to hospital student nurses before each nurse goes to RDNS Centres. This lecture prepares each nurse before she goes out for a week with an RDNS Sister to visit patients who are receiving nursing care in their home.During their training, Student nurses from several hospitals either attended the Royal District Nursing Service (RDNS), Education Department, or, a RDNS Nurse Educator travelled to the appropriate hospital’s Education Department to educate the Trainees on District nursing through the RDNS Community Nursing Program. Following the lectures Students went to a RDNS Centre and each student accompanied a Trained nurse (Sister) for a week observing and gaining knowledge of all facets of nursing care in the home. This gave them an insight into the home conditions and situations patients faced after discharge from hospital. Built as a toy, either by a well resourced home workshop or by a toy maker. Have been well used or loved with missing wheels and damaged roof. Possibly dates from the early 1900s. St Kilda was a popular destination for Melbourne cable trams. Demonstrates a toy cable tram set.Cable tram set made from wood and pressed metal. Grip car or dummy has remnants of paint (green and gold) on the sides, holes for wheels on the two wood blocks on the underside. Has an eye hook at one end and a hole for another at the other end. Seat made from timber with a steel wire or rod to represent a grip lever. Metal secured to wood base with nails. Has four metal Staunchions on either side. Trailer similar construction with sides stamped or cut from sheet steel with holes at either end for a eye or hook and wheels. Roof on both items has been pressed and assembled. Set of 8 black and white photographs of the SEC Ballarat track welding truck, Reg. No. 119 341. Truck is a British Bedford truck, model WHG, built by GMH Melbourne between 1932 and 1934. Has a fabric roof, chassis fitted with a tray top body, side tool box, metal frame and covered with canvas, fitted out with a motor generator set, welding equipment and oxy acetylene bottles. Has a strong association with tram crews and the rosters crew workings, possibly D.J. Everett. Prepared by crews from sheets to enable them to know what service times to run, meal times, details of crew changes etc, based on their allocated shift or run from the roster.Thirty eight (38) page red metal spiral binding, notebook with card board covers. Each sheet faint ruled, both sides. Front cover had a drawing of a Scots lassie with a Scots terrier on a lead and a drawing of a street scene in the background with the words "Scotland" in script. Demonstrates the Museum's ticketing systems and ongoing production of tickets.Block of 100 tickets - green ink on off white paper, with ticket number in green ink denomination 50c, headed Ballarat Vintage Tramway. On rear in green ink is an advertisement for the Tram Family Restaurant, corner Macarthur and Drummond St. North. The 100 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy brown cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small brown cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. 2210 - A000001 to A000100 (The first block collected at the time of issue 6/3/1988) The tickets are in the style of the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria tramway tickets. Tickets in use as adult return fare from 12/3/88 to 30/6/91 and child return fare from 1/7/1991 to 1/11/98. Note last block issued 8/1/1991. Handmade book with light green covers made from a cut file holder with brown paper glued on the inside, containing 39 typed (original) sheets of paper giving Instructions or Rules to Motormen. Has five page index, then 34 pages, with 104 rules or instructions, covering Tramcar Equipment (electrical), location of faults, tramcar braking, failure of the mechanical brakes, tramcar emergency braking, automatic braking, automatic electric signals and general instructions for Ballarat. The brown paper appears to have been placed on the outside, as it is cut and glued on the inside of the book. Individual sheets held into the book with a metal clip. On the rear of the book, a small piece of cardboard has been glued over the back of the metal strip. Notes mentions bogie trams, so therefore post 1945. Gives details of route electric signals, use of doors on the trams relevant to the central median strip. On page 4, has hand drawn diagram showing the motors in series and parallel.
