Tatura club formed during the 1980's. "Meals and Wheels" - holiday workshops for children and District Nursing service just three of our major projects. Kurt Winker was born in Germany in 1902 and was a survivor of the "Arandora Star". He was sent to Australia on the "Dunera" where he was interned at Tatura 1940-1945.Lead pencil sketch. An AWAS clerk in garrison office retrieved these identification photos of the officers and batmen at Dhurringile POW camp after the 1945 breakout. All the identification signs had been maliciously swapped by the men to mislead the photographers records. Prisoner pwcm41297 identified as Walter Haug in Jan 1999.
