WW2 internment camp 1, Tatura, was built on land owned by Mr J. B. Noonah and consisted of mainly German internees. A large and modern hospital was located there.

Tatura Rural Services operated in Tatura for many years and was located in Ross Street, virtually opposite the water tower. Business was owned by Bill Brown and later sold to Ritchie Trevaskis.
