Has a strong association with Wayne Kell the SEC Pitman prior to the closure of the SEC Ballarat system.Ticket - from white card (200 gsm) ticket with, printed in black ink - titled "Special Pass". Has number "70" stamped on. Form number "TYE 2-220" in top left hand corner. Has space for the name of the Bearer (issued to Mr. ...), Branch to be written, space for manager to sign with date .../.../19.... and expiry date of pass." Conditions of use printed on rear. Collett, who was Tramway Superintendent at Ballarat from 1910 to 1922. Letter on BTM Letterhead. Letter gives details of references to Mr. Collett - 1912 Arbitration Hearings, and the 1922 strike. Copies of the relevant newspaper items attached. The reference to the 1912 strike is on yellow paper, with a fax header sheet. Demonstrates aspects of the SEC ticketing, governance and monitoring systems. The Pass or ticket could be issued to a SEC staff member to enable travel on the tramways while on business. Style remained very similar to the end of the tramways.SEC Provincial Tramways "Staff Ticket" No. Aa000448. Printed on heavy dark brown paper with black printing. Ticket good for single trip only, of use by employees when travelling on Commission's business. Form No. TYE-2-19. Not known when printed, possibly 1960's maybe earlier. Has been cancelled by "X"d in ink and removed from a 1930's ticket manual or similar document as it has paper on the rear of the ticket covering the conditions of use - see also Reg Item 3648 for the same paper backing.Has been "X" in inktrams, tramways, tickets, staff tickets, employees pass -

Furniture - Small wooden stool
Very old hand-made wooden stool 47 centimetres long, 14 centimeters wide and 19 centimetres high. The top is one and a half centimeters thick. The two sides are made from one centimetres thick wood and are 47 centimetres long tapering to 36 centimeters and seven centimeters wide. The two ends are 17 centimetres long, 14 centimetres wide and two centimetres thick, it checked out to fit into the sides of the stool, there are two centimetre notches cut into the bottom which create the impression of legs. Employed at the Kew Asylum as a 'public servant', he was a skilled amateur photographer, photographing numerous scenes in Kew and on his travels around Victoria. The majority of his photographs date from 1916 to 1929. His finest photographs are housed in two photograph albums. Digital copy of a photograph from page 19 of the 47-page photograph album containing 261 gelatinous silver images, loaned by Diane Washfold with permission given to digitise and hold a copy in our collection. This photograph, dating from c.1926, forms part of a group of photos taken on a bushwalking trip to Marysville, Victoria. John Chapman has written in 'Bushwalking Clubs - A Brief History', about the establishment in Victoria of the first bushwalking club in 1888, and the popularisation of bushwalking during the interwar period.
