Mission to Seafarers Victoria
Photograph, Former ladies of the Ladies Harbour Light Guild
The Women featured in this image seem to be on a re-union outing. Two confirmed identities are Berenice who appears and provides commentary on her memories as a young woman hosting dances at the Mission between WW2 and 1960 in a documentary produced by Csilla Tsongaray circa 2005. Marjorie Duckett's identity was confirmed by her nephew and in two articles in Ship to Shore newsletter. ( Search this database under the term Duckett for more background). POst WW2 the term ladies was gradually dropped and the LHLG became the Harbour Lights Guild in later years and in 1962-63 merged with the Flying Angel League.Colour photograph showing five former members of the LHLG seated outdoors.Jesse, Betty, Berenice, Marjorie, Unidentifiedhlg, lhlg, marjorie duckett -
