Block of 50 tickets - black ink on dark grey card, SEC Provincial tramways, Staff (employee) ticket, lettered Aa 002900 to Aa 002949, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways. The 50 tickets have been stapled within red card covers with a heavy metal staple and perforated 21mm from left hand edge. The ticket number is in black ink. The ticket could only be used by SEC employees on Commission business, was not transferable and only good for a single trip. Has form number "TYE 2-19". Stamped enamelled round brass piece with a hole stamped at the top and ring placed through. Used as a SEC tramways employees pass. Has the SEC logo in the centre, organisational name (State Electricity Commission of Victoria) in white enamelled and outer ring the words "Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways". This was in blue enamel. On rear stamped the number "166" and on base of badge letter "AMOR", assuming indicating who manufactured the badge. Is believed to be issued to Mr. Norm Pearson, Administrative Officer of the SEC. Set of 14 mixed SEC and BTPS tickets donated to the BTM as a set 1/7/2001. Tickets except for the BTPS ones have note been used. The image file shows the group of tickets. Tickets have not been individually numbered with the Registration Number, but can be identified by their ticket number and denomination. Most of the SEC tickets have the SEC logo "Electricity makes life easier! and small boy wrapped in a towel on the back, unless otherwise noted. Victorian Railways "S" circular, number S2038/74 advising of a BTPS excursion from Ballarat to Maryborough on Thursday 26/9/1974 (Melbourne Show Day). Noted that about 20 passengers travelling on the 12.45pm goods from Ballarat to Maryborough and returning on the 4.15pm rail car, a passenger carriage was to be attached to the goods train at the rear, next to the brake van. Also, a bulk ticket would be issued by the Stationmaster at Ballarat and signed by M.W.B. Ronald as Chief Traffic Manager. Issued on 16/9/1974. Four page (two sheets of A4 - double sided) on gold paper, printed as a Tour Booking form for a tour of Melbourne tram lines, titled "W3 661 Tram tour - Melbourne Revisited" for 27/5/1989. The tram was on loan at the time to "Yappa Tours" from the BTPS. See first and second paragraphs for details of the tram being in Melbourne. Also contained on pages 1 and 2 are notes on W3 class trams, their history and dispersal. Pages 2, 3 and 4 give details of the tour and the booking form. Tour operated by the Rail Tourist Association. Tour booking officer was Geoff Cargeeg. Printed using a typed wax stencil and then duplicated. The swan would not move, until coaxed by a cream biscuit from a passing school boy. Reported by a conductor (thought to be Austin Brehaut) to the columnist.
