This event was held in Orbost near the billabong and present football field.These items are part of a significant event held in Orbost.Two posters with blue background and red and blue print. There is a photograph of a gas rig and helicopter below "EAST GIPPSLAND TRADE FAIR" in red print. Below headings in red print -"Displays, Demonstrations and Catering" are, in black prin,t lists of activities and exhibitions at the fair. At the bottom of the page there is a logo which appeaars to be that of the Electricity Supply Department. In the bottom right corner is "Enquiries to G. Holding" with an Orbost post box number. This is an early 20th century example of a chronograph, a watch with stopwatch functions. Chronographs date from the early 19th century and were used particularly in aviation, astronomy, diving, automobile and other racing contests and artillery firing and with more sophisticated designs are still used today.This item has no known local provenance but is retained for display purposes because of its age and its exceptional qualityThis is a chronograph, a display watch which also has a stopwatch function. It has a white face with black markings and Roman numerals and a gauge around the outer circle with numbers from 0 to 300. The face is covered with a glass frame. One hand and its pin are loose in the glass. The watch case is gold-coloured with a heavy ornamental pattern around the sides. At the top of the case is a ring for attaching the watch to a chain or belt. The interior used to have a soft lining. Numerous holes or various shape in sloping end. The tine is rusty and most leather has perished away. Lid to suit container originally leather covered. Gold writing in the bottom edge stating ‘Presented by The Commanding Officer & Officers.’ There is also a stamp ship crest for the ship GODAVARI next to the writing. There is a wooden stand insert on the secured by two screws. There are two metal holders on the upper part of the display as well. Copwud clock mechanism in the top left corner. These bottles were used at the pharmacies in Orbost. Chemists who worked in Orbost included Henry Cottman; James Alfred Dubois Williams; Harry Arthur Murray; Miss P.E .Mason (Phyllis Estelle?); Miss Sybil Monica Buzza; Thomas James Frayer; Australia Shaw; James David Torley; John William Zimmer; Dalkeith William Steele; William Thomas Hollingsworth; E.E. Cohen; R.S. Anderson; Frances John Perry Faith Everard Pardew and Charles Anthony Wurf.Medicinal bottles are probably the largest and most diverse group of bottles. The practices of early pharmacists are revealed through these glass bottles. The items have a clear association with Orbost.Six large glass bottles - four clear and two green. All have narrow necks with glass stoppers and are clearly labelled with black print on a white background. Each of the the two coloured glass bottles have a fluted surface. These apothecary bottles were used to dispense medications and also for show or display purposes. The labels under glass bottles had a recessed section that the label was placed into. Article in Trust News. In 1988 Nunawading City Council purchased 2.5 hectares of an historic property which has been owned and occupied by the Matheson Family since 1914. It is one of the last working orchards in Nunawading. A Management Plan includes an environmental living program which aims at providing an overnight experience for children, giving both an experience how the property was operated as an orchard in the 1920s and 1930s. A metal token mounted and framed to display both sides, with an information blurb describing the token as an early form of currency used as change by/at a tennis court and inn complex in Oxford, England. Token is personalised to relate specifically to one of the court keepers, a Thomas Wood. The 1st Kew Scouts was one of the first Scout Troops in Victoria, being formed in 1909. From 1927 they met in a magnificent Scout Hall in Disraeli Street, Kew until it was demolished in 1993. Still operating (in 2020) from their new Scout Hall on the corner of Kilby Road and Kellett Grove, Kew.A Scout Troop is divided into smaller teams called ‘patrols’. At this time the Scout in charge of a patrol was called a patrol leader (‘PL’) and his assistant a ‘second’ (‘Sec’). Each patrol of boys would chose a patrol name, often an Australian animal or bird. Other 1st Kew patrols called themselves the Kookaburra Patrol, the Kangaroo Patrol and so forth. The shield the Emu patrol is proudly displaying is possibly the trophy for being the ‘Champion Victorian Patrol’.
