This is a small commercially made tram model. Its design appears to be very loosely based on a Melbourne W Class tram design. The motorman’s cabin is realistic, but the body with its centre doorway does not look like any known tram designs. The wheels and their arrangement at the very ends of the tram are not realistic at all. No details of the maker, or where or when the model was made. This item was in a cabin trunk that belonged to Henry Frencham which also included his Petition to Parliament and the findings from the Parliamentary enquiry into his and other claims to be the first to find gold at Bendigo. A stereoscope is a device for viewing a stereoscopic pair of separate images, depicting left-eye and right-eye views of the same scene, as a single three-dimensional image.A dark brown wooden half centimetre thick base with curved edges varying in width from eight centimetres, twelve centimetre, seven centimetres and ten centimetres. A half centimetre by half centimetre piece of wood with a grove in it is glued to one end. On the other end an oval shaped half centimetre thick, twelve centimetres long and five centimetres wide, has two three centimetre diametre glass lenses in it and is attached by a small single hinge so it can be folded against the other piece for storage or raised to right angles to look through the lenses at an image in the groove at the end of the base piece.steroscope, henry frencham -

The walls are made of logs, the gable ends have wooden shingles, and there is a more recent tin roof with the original shingle roof underneath the tin. There is a verandah on the downhill side of the house. Trees surround the house. The house is opposite Kerrs Park and is believed to be the oldest house left in Narre Warren East. -

The Wharrie family built and lived in the Log Cabin, Darlington Road Stawell. Photograph shows a side view of a single truck closed cross-bench tram with trolley pole raised and depot workman in driver cabin. No tram number is visible. A coupling device appears to be a feature at one end. Behind the tram are trees and perhaps gardens. The paddle steamer P. S Pevensy appears to still be a working steamer in this photograph. The boat seems a bit dishevelled and the workers are doing repairs on her, while she is still steaming up the river. If this photograph was taken in 1950, that would have been well before the development of the Tourism Industry in the Murray Darling area. This would explain the number of workers and the fact that they were doing maintenance while the Paddle Steamer was still working. She does not appear to be towing a barge, but a large tarpaulin could be covering a load for transport. This picture holds significance because it shows a paddle steamer in use before the Tourism Industry had developed in the Murray Darling region. The paddle steamer which now carries passengers every day has been renovated to cater for passengers cruising up and down the river. Here is this photograph the P.S Pevensy looks a bit dishevelled and untidy.This is a black and white rectangular photograph of the P.S Pevensey. Four people can be seen painting the wall of the cabins on the upper deck. A person can also be seen kneeling on the back deck working on something lying on the back deck. A wooden boat is nearby, also on the back deck. The boat is steaming and appears to be moving upstream. There is along pole at a 45 degree angle attached to the very front of the paddle steamer.On the front of the photograph written on the paddle steamer can't be seen the words "PEVENSEY. Melbourne." Carrum is a suburb in the City of Kingston bordered by the Patterson River in the north and Kananook Creek in the south. To the east the suburb is adjacent to Patterson Lakes. The Carrum Station was opened in 1882, when the railway line from Mordialloc was extended to Frankston. In the early 20th century, it was a destination for holidaymakers occupying tents and cabins. The area now consists of older housing and over time there have been many new housing developments.Carrum is located in the area that was originally part of the Carrum Carrum Swamp. The district had originally been the home of the Bunerong people who fished, gathered food and found refuge in the sand dunes. The Swamp was drained in 1879 when the Patterson Cut was formed and became known as Patterson River. Apart from local farmers, fishermen and hotel-keepers, there were few permanent residents until the early 20th century when it had become popular as a beach resort. In the 1920s and 1930s the area became occupied by more permanent residents.Laminated aerial colour photograph of Carrum and Patterson Lakes in the City of Kingston. A dorade is a type of ventilator that allows air to move in and out of a vessel's cabin or engine room but baffles or screens within the box it is fitted to prevent the rain and seawater from getting inside. A Dorade was first seen in use on the "Dorade", an ocean racing yacht designed by Olin James Stephenson II and built in 1929. Since then there have been modifications to the original design. The yacht, Dorade, could have been named after the Mediterranian dorade fish.An early piece of marine equipment from the 1930s that still is in use today on smaller vessels to improve below-deck ventilation.Dorade vent cowl; a cast brass ventilator. A dorade is a type of ventilator that permits the passage of air in and out of the cabin or engine room of a boat while keeping rain, spray, and sea wash out. The basic form is a low, rectangular box fixed to the deck or cabin top, fitted with interleaving vertical baffles. The baffles alternate to be free at the floor of the box, or free at the ceiling, forming a series of chambers. A horn-shaped ventilation cowl is usually fitted facing forward to a large hole at the top of the chamber at one end of the box with another large hole opening down into the boat from the chamber at the other end. Limber holes perforate the wall of the box at the floor of each chamber. Dorade boxes operate on the principle that air can pass relatively freely through the chambers, yet rain or sea wash will be trapped in successive chambers and drain out the small holes in the sides of the box. The first appearance of Dorade boxes was on the Olin Stephens-designed Dorade, a yacht built in 1929 for ocean racing.
