Safety Development Fund Final Report, January 2007. This was conducted by the University of Ballarat and the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industries, Victoria. This was for the prevention of falls and manual handling injuries in the industries. Part of the Safety Development Fund Project was funded by Worksafe Victoria and supported by the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union and the Transport Workers Union. The authors of the Report are Steve Cowley and Susan Leggett of The University of Ballarat. From this path he was able to follow a career in teaching and his first appointment was at the School of Mines in Ballarat, (SMB) 1949. He became the first Vice Principal of SMB in 1960 and then Principal in 1964 to 1976. From 1976 to his retirement in 1987, he was the Foundation Director of Ballarat College of Advanced Education (BCAE). Mechanical Engineering Department Ballarat C.A.E. Final Year Report submitted by John Barker, 1984. The Report was "Internal Combustion Engine Driven Heat Pump". His supervisor was L E Taylor. The location of the experimental rig was in the Thermodynamics Laboratory at Ballarat Council of Advanced Education. This project involved the design, construction and limited testing of an Internal Combustion Engine Driven Heat Pump, utilising full waste heat recovery, for the purpose of heating mains supply water.
