The Red Ribbon Agitation was a peaceful protest by miners against the 30 shilling per month licence fees they were charged. The donor is a descendant of Henry Bayles Ford, who was the light house keeper at Cape Otway for thirty years (1838-1878). Bayles' wife, Mary Ann had been governess for the Latrobe family. The original tea set was a gift to their daughter Agatha,, and the remaining cup and saucer has been passed down to her descendants.Porcelain cup and saucer, originally part of a tea set. A memorial was erected in Morwell to honour Legacy Founder Sir Stanley Savige. It was unveiled on 16 April 2010 and Legatee Bill Rogers was invited to attend. The event was to unveil a bronze plaque depicting both the work of Legacy and the achievements of Stanley Savige. Advance Morwell played a leading role in the memorial project, supported by members of the planning group and Latrobe City Council. The plaque and the naming of Legacy Place completes the final stage of the Savige Memorial Project that commenced with the erection of a bronze bust of Stanley Savige in 2006. These tickets were a replacement for the MetroCard Off Peaks introduced in 1980. However, the times of availability were now altered to being valid from 9am weekdays, but more importantly, could be used for return rail travel anytime that day. Like the MetroCards, they also allowed unlimited MMTB tram and bus travel within the Flinders, Spencer, Latrobe, William, Victoria and Spring Streets grid. No conditions were printed on the rear of these tickets. 'Loren' (formerly James Hogg's house) is a two-storey gabled prefabricated house, constructed using broad-gauge corrugated iron and was originally erected at 60-62 Curzon Street, North Melbourne in 1853 for builder, James Hogg. By 1968 the building had deteriorated and it was dismantled and moved to Old Gippstown where it was re-erected and restored. The building's external framing system consists of exposed metal columns with Gothic panel motifs at the corners. Internally the timber framed walls have been finished with new papers over new Hessian. The corrugated iron roof has an unusual concave form and the windows, floors and doors are of moulded softwood. State historic significance as a rare type of iron prefab. house. Listed on the Victorian Heritage Register and covered by a Heritage Overlay, Latrobe City Planning Scheme.
