Unveiled Saturday 13 October 1990. Russell Yeoman advised (14 Jun 2017 society meeting) that the Shire of Eltham had been given a plaque to commemorate Walter Withers and that the rock was sourced from west of Melbourne with funds from a local government grant. The initial crane to lift the rock in place was too small and another crane was arranged. The Denny Lascelles Wool Warehouse was the first building in Victorian planned to facilitate storage, inspection and marketing of wool in one operation, and upon completion was the second largest store in the colony. CJ Denny's was largely responsible for establishment and development of the wool marketing industry in Geelong and is a figure of significance in the history of settlement in Geelong. The wool store, a basalt structure with cement rendered ornamentation, was erected for CJ Denny's and Co, in 1872 to the design of Jacob Pitman, Architect.Wood cut engraving of the Mesrs. C. J. The Greensborough Inter Church Council was formed in 1989 at a meeting of the Greensborough Ministers Fraternal, with 8 churches initially involved. The Council organised ecumenical activities and services at Christmas and Easter and co-operatively organised many other activities in the area including the annual Family Carol Service. This folder contains agenda and minutes from some meetings, correspondence, advertising flyers and newspaper clippings on various activities. The Diamond Valley Community Hospital was established in 1942 in Grimshaw Street Greensborough. This album records the redevelopment/building program in 1990-1991, and includes functions such as 'Turning the Sod' and many photos of buildings under construction. Due to financial circumstances, the hospital closed in 2000. This collection of photo albums is from the 1990s and was collected by staff. Photographs include staff, patients, buildings and functions held for the hospital. Photographs are not named. Albums may be accessed at the GHS Resource Centre. This volume is numbered 6. As the Diamond Valley Community Hospital is now closed, this collection of albums records some of the people involved.
