Victorian Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (VIOSH) Australia is the Asia-Pacific centre for teaching and research in occupational health and safety (OHS) and is known as one of Australia's leaders on the field. VIOSH has a global reputation for its innovative approach within the field of OHS management. VIOSH had its first intake of students in 1979. At that time the Institution was known as the Ballarat College of Advanced Education. In 1990 it became known as Ballarat University College, then in 1994 as University of Ballarat. The Mural is a picture in wool of the origin of the Ballan district and is made of pure wool donated by local growers.The centre panel is a reproduction of a sketch by Emma von Stieglitz in 1852 of the Ballan General Store. The ram's heads symbolise the importance of wool to the area and the circular shapes the transport of the day. Mrs Grace Slocombe designed the Mural, fifty-three local craftswomen (and one man) began the work in November 1981, and the finished work was exhibited at the 1982 Ballan Arcadian Arts Festival. The Mural was also exhibited at the 1982 Royal Melbourne Show then went on a tour of of various country areas in Victoria. This photograph of Fortuna’s Darts Team was taken in the Ballroom at Fortuna Villa, Bendigo circa 1982-1983. Darts was a very popular sport played in the Army Survey Regiment’s messes for many years. Some of Fortuna’s highly skilled exponents of formed a team to participate in in the local competition held in several pubs around Bendigo. This is an example of Melbourne Legacy promotional material that was issued to inform the public on the work of Legacy. It was a snapshot of statistics to help inform people about Legacy. Comparing two cards, the number of widows doubled between 1966 and 1982, but the number of children in 1982 was less than a third of the number in 1966. Question arises - why did it not continue?Attempt by Club to recognise another success - but not continued.Wooden shield with small separate brass plaques in the shape of shields attached to the shield. Two of these are inscribed with winners names. The Shield also has an inscription at the top and a separate medallion with an outline of a cyclist stamped on it. Dog tags were issued by the Shire of Bulla to all dog owners who resided within the Shire. The dog tags were used to identify dogs and to control wandering animals in the area.A gold metal dog tag with a small key ring issued by the Shire of Bulla in 1982. The lettering on the tag is engraved in the concave side of the tag. The tag is in a small brown envelope which has been fastened with staples at the end. The words Regd.
