The file contains numerous original and copied primary sources as well as short histories and correspondence between the Kew Historical Society and the Historic Buildings Preservation Council when it was proposed to demolish the church. Following the demolition of the Church, an aged care facility - Bodalla - was erected (since demolished). The file contains some information on Bodalla and a foundation stone relating to the former Church which was placed on the site. In the file, there is a photocopy of a brass plaque from 1860 that refers to the architect being George Wharton and the builders Messrs. There are two documents of correspondence covering a brief history and the establishment in 1863of Caulfield Common School, Glenhuntly Road. 1.The first is a photocopy of a hand written letter with attachments to thr Board of Education dated 16/03/1864 from T.W. Watts (Hall of Commerce). The attachment gives more detail about the history and establishment of the Caulfield Common School. 2.The second document is a photocopy of the school’s correspondence from 1865. The third document is an article from Melbourne Weekly Bayside 09/05/2012. Two items about this subject: /A book written by Gwenda Mann (donator) about the coming together of Uniting Church Australia Elsternwick/Caulfield South Parish. There were previously nine churches before the union. The book includes short histories about all of the churches, their congregation ministers and some memories from the church members. There are twenty black and white photographs, three illustrations and a map of the churches in the book. Included at p32 is 1 1/2 pages of memories from Glen Eira Historical Society member Norma Ward. 2/The second document is an order of service for the Unity Church Australia on 09/08/1998. They include primary and secondary resources - newspaper and journal clippings, brochures, short histories of families and buildings, personal accounts, etc. - relating to people, places and events. The series as a whole is sorted alphabetically. Each component of the series is grouped by Secondary Values (the values of records to users) rather than by Primary Values (Provenance Order). There are approximately 500 separate Subject Files. While some files contain a small number of records, others contain numerous documents and manuscripts.
