Lined notebook, 100 sheets, with marbleised cover, stapled with red Rexene quarter binding with two sheets marked up for each tram between 574 and 651 giving date inspected, overhaul dates and condition in a remarks column. 1947 to 1952 In the front of the book were many loose sheets giving authorisation for bus painting and repairs at Preston works, accident and maintenance repairs for specific buses. M&MTB Season Greetings Card 1926 – 1927. The card consists of a heavily embossed brown cover with the MMTB logo on the front cover, with a printed sheet internally and tied together with a green ribbon. The photographs have been overlaid with a gold borders and the message has been printed in gold ink. An experienced printer estimated it would have taken some two hours to hand set the message, the press operator another two hours to get the registration correct before printing it and after printing allowed up to four days for the gold ink to dry before handling the paper again. This is certainly a work of art in terms of printing. Whether it was done by the M&MTB’s internal printing office is unknown. Of the view it would have only been sent to “select” people. Framed and glazed photograph of cable tram set, trailer 233, at the Victoria St Terminus, c1900. Has a factory and water tank in the background. Cable tram dummy is loaded with gentlemen and there is a paper boy in front of the trailer. Print mounted onto a wooden chip board and sealed with brown tape around the edges. Two screwed frame hanging supports on either side with one run of string between them. Frame - brown and gold with a buff and black line framed around the photograph. The donor advised that it was probably 1940's/1950's when went to school by tram Whitehorse Road, between Burke Rand Balwyn Road, though the ticket has been punched for a inner section. Sign, sandwich board style, Masonite sheets secured to pine uprights, yellow background, green letters, with words "Australian Electric Traction Association". Used by the AETA at conventions, displays etc. Possibly made 1980's by style of letters and paint. Has four 50x18 wooden legs, with hinges at the top to support sign and allow it to be opened. Fitted with rope and eyehooks to allow it to be carried our secured in the open position. These are damaged and not functional. Sign, painted onto a MMTB auxiliary destination board of the type that could hang on the front of a Melbourne tram car with the words "Australian Electric Traction Association Special Car". Used for special tours by the AETA. Metal sign, fitted with metal hanging brackets, riveted to sign on both sides. Manufactured by rolling the outer edges over a 4mm diameter steel rod. Has been painted over a an old sign "Direct to Trotting Showgrounds??? via Abbotsford St 3d". Second sign painted over a sign that had on one side "Via Elsternwick" and "Via Balaclava Road". Model of Melbourne tram W5 (actually a SW5) No. 812, electric model, made by Cooee Concepts Pty Ltd in China. Model packaged in a wooden packing case with a red felt base, contained within a card board outer case. The card board cover or case has a printed sheet giving details of the model and the history of the W5 Class tramcar. The wooden case has a brass plate detailing the contents. Scale 00 or 1:76. Model made from plastic and metal, with operable lights and motors with operable trolley poles, swivelling bogies, destination of St Kilda, showing route 16. Headlights function in the direction of travel. Package has manufacturing date of 2008 printed on it.
