Set of four foolscap size sheets, for ARHS Tour to Ballarat, titled "The Ballarat Bonanza" on 25/2/1967, stapled in the top left hand corner. Included trips on the Eureka and Redan lines. 1. - Welcome Aboard circular - printed on green paper - giving trip information - Yarra Car, Safety, timetable notes, photostops, refreshments, sales and tours of either the workshops or a tram tour. Trip via North Geelong to Ballarat, return via Bacchus Marsh. Booking Officer R. Carlisle, Tour Organiser E. (Ted) Davies. 2. Also the puffery of the drapers advertisement.Black and White copy photograph of an advertisement in The Ballarat Star newspaper, dated Dec. 12, 1913 featuring the Cowdell Tonner and Ellis drapers store on the corner of Bridge and Grenville St, Ballarat, also known as the "The CT&E Corner". Features a cross bench tramcar, 19 or 20, passing the front of the store with its blinds drawn, and many flags, advertisements and banners, including the Australian flag. The caption to the photograph is "C.T.E. corner, Bridge Street, Tram Terminus", Ballarat's Busiest Drapers. Black and white photograph contained within Reg. Item 2526, page 3 of the pattern Ballaarat Tramway Co. Ltd outside the Duncan & Fraser's Carriage Works in Adelaide. Has a Australian 2d stamp (1936 South Australian Centenary) over the top right hand corner. Has been cut from a larger photograph. Handwritten notes in pencil noting the time of the photograph, the tram weight, couplings, lamp brackets, the possible purpose of the photograph, the incompleteness of the tram when compared to actual running condition. Dated 7/1/1940. Also notes on the 3 legged stool used by the horse tram drivers and the double decked buses operating then in Melbourne ( Bourke St.). Has sketch of the stool in ink. BTPS Postcard, featuring No. 27 and 38 in Wendouree Parade (Reg. Item 1781) that has been manufactured or stamped into a 24 piece jigsaw by Resort Puzzles Pty Ltd. of Lithgow, c1988. Card after stamping has been mounted onto a sheet of brown cardboard then enveloped with a sheet of clear light weight plastic and onto the rear, a printed white sheet of paper has been glued or fixed onto it. The pre-printed sheet of paper acts as the rear of the postcard for mailing purposes, providing a stamp location, address and writing area. Varnished wooden panel fitted with 13 different tramway or railway related signs and one small image of a Melbourne Tramcar. The panel consists of two pieces of plywood glued to wooden backing boards. The signs have been fixed to the panel with brass screws - either round or countersunk. Has a number of horse drawn vehicles in the street. Reproduction of a print from a 19th century Australian Publication, prepared and published by Dovers Pty Ltd. 9/1973 and printed by Allprint. Printed on good quality light weight ivory board or card and mounted on the top edge onto a preprinted backing sheet with the details of the publication and paper used printed onto it. Embossed with "Dovers" logo along bottom edge. Appears to have been cut out of another publication. Noted as being designed by Haddon Smith Pty Ltd Acquired from J. Printed black and white photographic postcard of Ballarat ESCo crossbench tram No. 19 at the intersection of Armstrong and Sturt St. travelling east along the north side of Sturt Street. Photo appears to be taken in the early days of tram operation - small destination box. Has the Ballarat Town Hall, the National Mutual Life building, Snows and other buildings on the south side of Sturt. St. Has a number of horse drawn vehicles in the image as well. Titled "Sturt Street, Ballarat" in bottom right hand corner". On rear of postcard, printed is the words "Post Card", areas for "Correspondence" and "Address Only" and in stamp area in a square "Kodak Australia" twice. Handwritten on the card is "With Best Wishes for a Happy New Year to all Rostella / W. Lovett". It includes features on both rural and metropolitan railways and contains articles and photographic presentations. Our collection includes all issues from January until December 1974. This featured item from January 1974 includes an article and photograph of the Northeast Railway Centenary celebration train, R707, to Wodonga. Wilson of the United Kingdom during his visit during the winter of 1994 and a copy subsequently sent to the Museum in 1995. Part 1 - features a visit to the AETM St. Kilda Museum, including a trip to the beach and return in Ballarat 21 - 40 mins, an 8 minute trip on the Glenelg line, a visit to the Myer store - toy train and monorail (but not running), then a 10 min long session of a visit to Christchurch NZ. Part 2 - features a visit to Ballarat (28 mins. running time), featuring a trip on 14 with Dave O'Neil, and visit to the depot in particular 27, 1, 12 and 661 and video of the Tower truck at work. The final section is a visit to SPER at Loftus, including a trip to the National Park with 1971 and shots of Ballarat No. 12 on display.
