Brother Ross Keane became the 1st principal of Galen Catholic College in 1975 and served in this role until the end of 1982. During this time, Galen Catholic College was as a catholic co-educational college for Years 11 and 12 only. Prior to 1975, boys in the senior year levels stayed on at Champagnat College, girls at the same year levels stayed on at St. Joesph's College.
