Tram has destination "City Spencer St" and run number "P44" Tram appears to be fairly crowded already. Photo taken c1956 with a number of motor cars in the street including some Holdens. In the background are a number of shop fronts, with signs for "Singer Sewing Machines", "Freddo frogs", "Peters Ice Cream", Davies Hardware, John Cornish. Destination roll - white lettering on black background. Destination roll used at the TB Footscray depot. Has stencil words "STOP" on top and bottom, stencilled miniature destinations on rear to assist drivers to locate the destination. Letters are 146 high. Roll consists of a unpainted section, 520 long at top, 2280 long painted section and a 1500 long unpainted section at base. Has been rolled using a 16 diameter wooden dowel - 925 long. Destination roll that was used in Camberwell Depot trams, Melbourne, until the late 1960's. Roll on linen, with white letters on black background. Has stencilled words "STOP CAMB" on bottom of roll, generally stencilled, though a few handwritten, miniature destination on rear to assist driver to locate the destination. Letters approx. 140 high. Roll consists of an unpainted section 525 long at top and 165 long unpainted section at base. Painted section approx. 9.9m long. Has on the bottom of the roll, a section which has been added to the roll or repaired by adding a new section. Some repainting of the old destinations also apparent. The middle of three "CITY" destinations and other parts adjacent have been repaired. Set of 8 SEC decimal tickets found in a tramcar, c1998 or donated by an unknown source as a set of sample tickets. Tickets have been used and are generally in a good condition. The 6c green ticket has varying degrees of dirt. The image file shows the nature of the damage. Tickets have not been individually numbered with the Registration Number, but can be identified by their ticket number and denomination.
