The advertising signs are unreadable adverts. Based on the conversion dates of the two trams to ones with marker lights, early 1970s. The track was reconstructed to realign the roadway as part of roadworks to eliminate a sharp curve at the intersection in Nov. 1973 1 - W2 605 turning from Power St into Riversdale Road before reconstruction of the corner. Shows the location of the tram stop. Slide no. MP120 2 - SW6 879 turns from Power St into Riversdale Rd with works underway. Slide No. MP154 3 - W2 380 at the revised intersection following the work to reconstruct the corner. Slide No. 98. The intersection has since been reconstructed and the crossover relocated. Decorative object, Wooden bowl made from Osage Orange tree timber
This small bowl was won by Alex Todd for marksmanship at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Bazaar in Bacchus Marsh in 1935. It was described in the Bacchus Marsh Express newspaper as a piece of Local Objet d'Art. The Express noted that it was 'made and donated to the Ladies' Guild by Mr. Walter Simon, of Bacchus Marsh. A local osage orange tree furnished the wood for the bowl, which was one of many articles that Mr. Simon's lathe has shaped from time to time, the grain of the osage timber being especially suitable for such work', Express, 25 May, 1935, p.2. The Railway and Tramway Map of Melbourne and Suburbs With Tram Timetables lists existing Cable Tram Services before the entire network was electrified. By 1917 the tramways system was divided into regions including: the Melbourne Cable Tram Service; Prahran - Malvern Electric Trams; Hawthorn Electric Trams; Melbourne, Brunswick and Coburg Electric Trams; and Brighton Beach Electric Trams. The old Outer Circle railway line is marked as ending in Deepdene, with the remainder of the line to Fairfield marked as 'Unused'. The Kew tram along High Street in 1917 ended at the Harp Junction. The Kew Spur Line is also marked on the map.The Railway and Tramway Map of Melbourne and Suburbs With Tram Timetables is historically significant as it captures at a point in time, 1917, the development of public transport infrastructure in Melbourne.
