M.V Krait manned by Naval and Army Personal was responsible for sinking 38,000 tons of Japanese shipping during a wartime raid on Singapore Harbour in September 1943. The crew covered themselves in black stain and wore sarongs to resemble Malay fishermen. Whilst in service she carried a Japanese Flag.Framed print containing 4 photographs. Depicting M.V. The Military Merit Medal was founded by Emperor Franz Joseph 1st on March 12 1890. The Medal was awarded in both peacetime for meritorious service and in wartime for outstanding acts. The first prototype of the Owen Gun was first developed by Evelyn Owen in 1931 and finalised the design in 1938. The Owen was the only entirely Australian - designed and constructed service sub-machine gun of World War11 and was used by Australian Army from 1942 until 1971. It was manufactured at Lysaght's works who built 45,000 units.
