Photograph - Colour photograph, Volcanic Vent Near Mount Franklin, 2007, 18/07/2016
When the ground depresses down at the point of a volcanic vent after a volcano’s magma chamber has been emptied it is known as a caldera, and not a volcano crater. (https://www.universetoday.com/31143/volcano-crater/, accessed 04 March 2019) A caldera is a volcanic feature formed by the collapse of a volcano into itself, making it a large, special form of volcanic crater. A caldera collapse is usually triggered by the emptying of the magma chamber beneath the volcano, as the result of a large volcanic eruption.(https://www.sciencedaily.com/terms/caldera.htm)A volcanic vent, or depression on one side of Mount Franklin. mount franklin, volcano, volcanic vent, lalgambook -

44-minute video documentary on 1986 Victorian nurses strike, Running out of patience : the 1986 Victorian nurses strike, 1988
In October 1986, Victorian nurses began an historic strike action which was to last 50 days. This video is the nurses version of the dispute. Despite widespread condemnation mainly from the media, the nurses eventually won out for an appropriate career structure including significant pay increases. Actual strike footage together with nursing training films and old photographs explore vocational stereotypes and place the strike in the context of the current crisis in the health care system.44 minute video file (.mp4 multimedia format), transferred from original videocassette. In colour, with sound. Original was released with a booklet explaining the broader context for the documentary.labor, labour history, nurses, royal australian nursing federation, strikes, industrial action, film, trade unions, 1986 victorian nurses strike, nursing, strike action, unionism, campaigning, victoria, health system, staffing, australia, irene bolger, strikes and lockouts, history -

bottle, 1930's
At one time, almost all breweries in Australia had their own brand of returnable bottle or were members of bottle co-operatives that managed returnable bottles. Instead of being crushed to make new bottles, as happens in most cases today, these returnable bottles were returned to the brewery or bottle co-operative, washed, inspected for cracks and chips and returned to service.A green clear glass bottle with the word COUNTRY embossed on the front and MBCV in a spade below it. the base is dimpled and the bottle is designed for a crown seal.At bottom - Property of the Manufacturers Bottle co-op of Victoria PTY Ltd on front - COUNTRY with MBCV in a spade beneath itcontainer bottle m.b.c.v. -

"The Hermitage" was built by photographer John William Lindt as a home and guesthouse in 1894. John Lindt had previously photographed the mountain scenery of the Black Spur and purchased 71 acres and subseqently built his home and guesthouse from where he continued his career. "The Hermitage had a garden designed by John Lindt's friend, Ferdinand von Mueller, who was at one stage the Director of the Melbourne Botanic Gardens. The garden featured New Guinea tree houses from which John Lindt made frequent panoramas of his property and the surrounding forest of towering mountain ash. Aged 81 Lindt died of heart failure during disastrous bushfires on 19 February 1926 at the Hermitage. He was survived by his wife Catherine who continued to run ‘The Hermitage’ guest house before she retired to the city. At the time of the publication of this article, John and Val Stafford had become the fifth owners of "The Hermitage".the hermitage, john william lindt, narbethong, victoria, black spur, ferdinand von mueller, melbourne botanic gardens, new guinea, catherine lindt, john stafford, val stafford -
